How do you show up?

How good are you at choosing your state or attitude?  Are you able to decide in a moment how you are going to BE in that moment?

 

This week I am running 4 days of workshops, meeting some social committments, maintaining my blog and other social networking pages, promoting my new book, preparing for a week in Sydney....amongst other business as usual activities.

 

This is a pretty standard week for me.

 

Oh, and I'm also in the middle of a 21 day detox which is having an effect on my energy levels, both positively and negatively.

 

Yesterday was a low energy morning but I still needed to show up to the front of the room with my usual (and expected) high energy.  I'm not sure I have a consciousness about how I do this because the moment I am in the room, and the first participant walks in, I'M ON!

 

BUT...I think the trick is to first decide that you are going to choose your state.  Second (if required) is to fake it until you feel it.  And the third thing, and maybe the one that works best for me, is to do with the mind/body connection.  Monitor your internal dialogue and if necessary, reframe your thinking towards thoughts that suport your desired energetic and productive state.  OR, monitor your body posture and if necessary change or move your body in a way that is more supportive of your desired energetic and productive state.  For example, if you are sitting, stand up, if you are slouching, straighten up.

 

Pretty simple really:

  • Choose your state
  • Choose your attitude
  • Choose how you show up
  • Be awesome
