Middle Management can make or break an organisation

I wonder why it is that there is often such a disconnect between strategy and operations. One of my global clients often laments that there is a layer of “mud” between the messaging that we think is getting cascaded at the senior levels, to what is actually being received by the troops at the front line.
It’s at this middle management level that stuff gets distorted, deleted and generalised. AND, it’s done through their lens.
If we are serious about building positive cultures, and communicating effectively, we need to spend more time engaging middle management and providing them support, training and…..just quietly, TLC.
Middle management can be where organisational communication gets stuck. We need them to play a greater role in organisational messaging.
