I love working with the fattest part of an org chart.  It’s where the soul of the organisation lies, and where the true test of espoused culture lives.  It’s also where all the work gets done.

In my experience, from a professional development perspective, it’s also the most neglected.

Sandwiched between graduate development programs and leadership development programs, middle management is often left to sink or swim.

When I do get the chance to offer training to this group, they are the most engaged, hungry and determined to apply audiences I have. 

We need to give them more.
