Australians largest ever leader survey conducted the Centre for Workplace leadership at Melbourne University (2016) has found “that for every $10 spent on senior leaders, only $1 was spent on frontline leaders”

It also found what many of us have known for some time, that promotions happen because of technical capability not necessarily on their ability to manage people.

I reckon this is a massive shortfall in organisation development.  It has a direct impact on leadership bench strength, sustainable leadership and succession planning.

We need to invest more in management development so that our investment in leadership development pays off.
